Use Private Groups For Employees — It’s a great idea for your company to integrate your employees into your Social Media strategy. Start a closed group and make it mandatory for all employees to join the group. Encourage your employees to use the group to discuss work events, schedule changes, and anything else going on in your business. This open line of communication builds strong work relationships, and will help you in more ways then you think.
SumAll: SumAll is free, in-depth and invaluable when it comes to social analytics. Its strongest point is its ability to join data points together, even if they’re not on the same platorm. So, you can see if you’ve had a spike of mentions on Twitter and if that drove traffic to your website. Normally you’d have to log in two separate platforms, download two separate reports and do the analysis yourself. SumAll does saves you that time by doing it for you – all you then need to do is build the story around it. Another reason why I recommend SumAll is its long list of analytics data points that you can attach to it: from social platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+) to social writing platforms (e.g. WordPress, Blogger); from web analytics (Google Analytics) to payments analytics (e.g. PayPal, Stripe, Amazon Payments); from eCommerce analytics (e.g. Amazon, eBay, Shopify) to ads analytics (e.g. Bing Ads, Google AdWords/Adsense) and beyond. There’s virtually nothing you can’t measure in digital marketing with SumAll.
MailChimp’s marketing automation gives you the ability to create a single email—or an email series—that sends automatically based on predetermined triggers. We evaluated data from 150,000 businesses that use MailChimp to compare single and multiple-email automations and to learn which yields better results. Our findings showed that if your goal is to sell more stuff, opting for an automation series can help increase impressions and result in more sales. But there are interesting outliers. Use our findings and test a single email against a full series for each automation to learn which one resonates with your customers and works best for your business.
MA vendor consolidation. Large ERP and CRM vendors will acquire some firms, while some niche providers will combine to remain competitive. IBM and Terradata both made significant acquisitions by picking up Unica and Aprimo, respectively. Oracle purchased the assets of Market2Lead. Buyers should expect to see more M&A activity going forward.
Using Hubspot. LOVE the folks at Hubspot. Such a cool corporate culture. And they’ve always been super helpful. Find their COS to be a bit limiting to work with in terms of web pages and blog layouts.
There are a number of ways brands can use digital marketing to benefit their marketing efforts. The use of digital marketing in the digital era not only allows for brands to market their products and services, but also allows for online customer support through 24/7 services to make customers feel supported and valued. The use of social media interaction allows brands to receive both positive and negative feedback from their customers as well as determining what media platforms work well for them. As such, digital marketing has become an increased advantage for brands and businesses. It is now common for consumers to post feedback online through social media sources, blogs and websites on their experience with a product or brand. It has become increasingly popular for businesses to use and encourage these conversations through their social media channels to have direct contact with the customers and manage the feedback they receive appropriately.
Imagine you’re preparing to launch your latest product. It’s a huge project involving everyone, from your app developers to your social media manager. Quip lets you “@mention” each user as they become relevant.
However, the term “marketing automation” has become a buzz-word, where marketers seek out marketing automation software under the impression that all of the digital marketing tools necessary for growth, including those needed to generate new leads, roll up under the hood of marketing automation. This misconception leaves many marketers with sophisticated tools to automate the middle of their funnel, but no solution to generating new leads to nurture in the first place.

It is important to monitor these feedback loops with an objective eye. The reason? As a marketing, demand generation, or business development professional, you’re probably under immense pressure to sell. Even if you’re emailing a basic newsletter or content update, you never know how consumers will respond to your messaging.
We have been using Momentum (http://www.momentum.ai/) for real-time tracking content engagement on social. It has a complex algorithm, which helps us decide what content (from our website) and when to promote on social media. It saves hours every week and also decreased user acquisition costs.
This is a terrific post and somewhat ahead of its time in regard to other material published around the same time. A question that I continue to mull lately is about the definition of marketing automation. Has it changed in the last year or so as social media has become more relevant and as content marketing starts to reach mainstream? Are there emerging features and functions that incorporate “big data” “self learning analytics” along with the further use of smart devices that connect everywhere all of the time that shift the definition of marketing automation? We lived with a definition that was founded in email for long while. Seems something more inclusive is needed now.
Shifting the focus to the time span, we may need to measure some “Interim Metrics”, which give us some insight during the journey itself, as well as we need to measure some “Final Metrics” at the end of the journey to inform use if the overall initiative was successful or not. As an example, most of social media metrics and indicators such as likes, shares and engagement comments may be classified as interim metrics while the final increase/decrease in sales volume is clearly from the final category.
The feature allows easy navigation on the history of all interactions which includes opportunities, cases, tickets, emails that have been logged (with content), calls that have been logged (with notes), future
The platform is not optimized for mobile users. Try sending newsletters from your Smart device, and you’ll feel like hitting your head on the wall. Email templates are not customized and archaic. Formatting has too many glitches.
