Even without all the horror stories, you should be diverting some of your time/money/effort into building your own web store, brand, or whatever. Who wants to be completely reliant on a third party for all of their success? That’s just asking for trouble!

If you sell, or plan to sell, on your own website, some ecommerce platforms support Amazon product feeds from your ecommerce store. This makes adding and maintaining product listings quite easy. Plus it streamlines inventory and order management, too. If you only sell on Amazon but want to better-manage your listings, there are systems for that, too.
Now in terms of the packaging, we recommend getting it customized. This sets your product further apart from the competition. The sooner you can get this done, the better, because it will take a couple of weeks for them to produce it. Amazon suspended my account for 2 fraudulent disputes from buyers that were claiming they never received the item when tracking showed it did. Provided all evidence, but Amazon denied it and sided with the buyer. I get dinged in ratings, lose out my money, the item and my account.
