If Amazon asks you to show it a website on which you have at least 5 gated products available for sale, do just that, and make sure every single image you show Amazon meets Amazon’s image requirements (you can learn more about image requirements by searching again in Seller Central for that topic). Answer all the questions honestly, and provide the requested documentation. If you can’t provide the necessary documentation, figure out how to get that documentation – but don’t try to get approved without all of the required information provided and required questions answered. We’ve seen sellers apply over and over to get approval, each time not properly completing the approval application process.

Come up with a return plan on how to handle returns, should the need arise. Who will pay the shipment back? Will you reimburse your buyer with the real fees they used to send the unwanted item back? Make sure though, that the money the buyer pays gets refunded. I’ve have been selling on Amazon since October. I sold a lot through Amazon, but their fees are killing me. And learned the hard way not to lowball my products. I either lose money or break even. Some items I do make some money. Many of my products are under $20 and I most definitely lose money on those. Profitable ones have to be over $25 to make money. But my Shopify site where I blog to create content still never made even one sale since October when I launched it. So I am dependent on Amazon because my Shopify costs me money on its monthly fees but no sales.
Some of the more recent applications of AI at Amazon are highly visible, for example, the Amazon Echo assistant and technology in the Amazon Go convenience store that uses machine vision to eliminate checkout lines.
Amazon does not reveal much about its marketing approach in its annual reports, but there seems to be a focus on online marketing channels. Amazon (2011) states “we direct customers to our websites primarily through a number of targeted online marketing channels, such as our Associates program, sponsored search, portal advertising, email marketing campaigns, and other initiatives”. These other initiatives may include outdoor and TV advertising, but they are not mentioned specifically. In this statement they also highlight the importance of customer loyalty tools. They say: “while costs associated with free shipping are not included in marketing expense, we view free shipping offers and Amazon Prime as effective worldwide marketing tools, and intend to continue offering them indefinitely”.
Like I mentioned previously, you do need some basic supplies before you can start selling items on Amazon.  You can wait until you have found some profitable products before getting these supplies; you just can’t send those products in to Amazon without having them.
