The company still makes money from books and it is not limited to the marketplace. Amazon business model has been diversified to include many online book retailers, book catalogs, comics’ distribution platforms, and other books and e-book services.
I’m glad you’ve decided to take initiative. I would’ve started with FBA as well, if my age didn’t deny it. Hopefully you’ll do well and your family will realize that you were able to become succesful despite their beliefs. My family doesn’t think I do anything or use my time wisely, and as you said I can’t wait to prove them wrong.
I just heard from an online business broker that amazon just put in the TOU that to transfer an amazon store (sell it) it now will go into a holding tank for 6 months while amazon checks it to see if it will approve the sale/transfer. During that time you cannot SELL anything! They have effectively rendered us unable to sell our store! Do you have any thoughts or comments about this? I’d love to hear them. All the more reason to do your own thing and not rely on Amazon.

As I am sure you can understand, we cannot divulge secretive information like monthly sales volume. Based on what you have told me / what I have seen , your volume is enough for us to be interested in your factory, especially given your broad range of products and your focus on quality control.

The draw for both new and current e-commerce sellers, is the immediate reward of tapping into the e-commerce juggernaut’s massive built-in traffic stream of buyers. Such a great post. Amazon is getting flooded with a lot of unscrupulous sellers from all over the world looking to make a quick buck. It can be a tremendous pain trying to deal with all of that. And the bigger you get on Amazon, the more issues you run into. Amazon staff is quite responsive in resolving issues in our experience, but we did experience our own horror story once when a hot selling item was inexplicably delisted due to customer complaints. Turns out Amazon was taking returned items and putting them back into regular inventory without properly checking for damage. So customers were receiving used and damaged products when they were expecting something brand new. Amazon of course is aware of stuff like this but they’re much more likely to protect buyers.
You can sell your products in numerous ways. 1. Link your website on other similar sites, and in exchange, you link their website on your pages. 2. Look for free websites like Craigslist.org, local.com, Google+, etc. 3. Use all the social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin.com, or Google Hangouts. These sites give you a free account, then you search their site for people or business with similar interest and engage and follow those people. Be careful of the spam policies. This is free but time-consuming. 4. Pay for ads on Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
Since then we’ve gone through all of those resources ourselves and have selected 10 products – one product from each resource category that looked interesting and caught our eye. As a very quick product demand test we cross checked all of them in Google Trends. All of the 10 product ideas we selected have a strong upwards trend.

That being said, here you don’t have the benefit of Amazon promoting your course. You have to do the promoting yourself through your own website, your email list, and possibly through affiliate partnerships. You also need to create a compelling sales page that will convince visitors to buy from you.
Over the years, the number of knockoff products from China has been exponentially increasing. And with large brands like Birkenstock pulling out of the platform due to piracy, Amazon has been extremely sensitive to counterfeit claims.
There’s no need to make it more complicated than it is. With Amazon FBA selling from different countries comes down to logistics and not differences in the Amazon platform. It’s the exact same process from anywhere!
Increase Sales- Shoppers on Amazon have come to the Marketplace with the explicit intent to purchase, or at the very least are looking to browse. Online search, advertising and other forms of online exposure do not guarantee that same bottom of the funnel-audience. Bottom Line- people on Amazon are more likely to buy.
As Khan sees it, Amazon’s strategy and business practices are “neither anticipated nor understood by current antitrust doctrines,” and the language and tools by which regulators and judges now analyze the company’s business practices “totally miss the game.”
I can’t tell you exactly at what point the government should step in to block Amazon from buying another company or curtail some of its business practices. Sellers who sell on the Amazon Marketplace have different fulfillment options to choose from. Sellers can choose whether they want to handle fulfillment or let Amazon sort, package and ship products through their own fulfillment centers.

Many people have this thought. The main thing is that every day more and more people sign up to be PRIME buyers on Amazon and the marketshare of online shopping goes up every year. People love the convenience. So, it is not saturated in my opinion.

Life as a Marketplace seller isn’t all algorithms and cash. Vendors also need high customer-service ratings to get the buy box. Keeping them that way is a grind, especially when you sell almost 25,000 different products and ship 570,000 orders a month. People get emotional about personal-care products. Including Vagenas’s mother, who called last summer to complain about her Coppertone suntan lotion. In July, it came with 10 percent extra. In August, it didn’t.
