Well, it’s really hard to get your product noticed at the start. It begins with no sales history and no reviews. Amazon Advertising lets you get your products noticed on the first page of search results, and getting noticed is key to success on Amazon.
You could fill a book with all the differences, of course, but the big one was: They could sell whatever they wanted, at whatever price, for whatever period of time. A marketplace vendor doesn’t worry about stocking a full line of shampoos, or whether certain soaps are always on sale. If they want to sell lotion one week and hairspray the next, they can do that.

The Listings Notifications and Report Notifications are critical to read, as you will be notified when one of your listings have been changed by another seller or merged by Amazon. Having your listings changed can be a very frustrating aspect of selling on listings shared with competitors, as a competitor may make an inaccurate change to the listing that results in your customers seeing the wrong information on a product that you are selling (if that happens, make sure to contact Seller Support asking for help getting the listing modified again).

To check the sales, open up the listing, go down to the product detail section. Now you’ll see that Amazon gives every single product in it’s catalog a rank. It’s called a best seller rank. This is called a parent category, and this one is called a sub-category.

definitely a scary story and position to be in…. currently i sell t-shirts through amazon and have been mildly successful, but i have been recently branching out and fulfilling through multiple channels.
Chances are, you’ve shopped on Amazon at some point. You may even have made purchases specifically for business items. But if you’re shopping for business items on Amazon and you’re not using the Amazon Business platform, you may be missing out.
If there’s 3000 sales combined but the top two listings have, you know, 2500 of that sales. That means the sales aren’t very well spread out, that means that unless you’re in the top one or two position, you’re not going to get many sales at all. So what we want to see is that the sales are fairly well distributed amongst that top 10.
