I am so frustrated that I am not able to sell the products I have on Amazon because of my first attempt at selling something on Amazon in years past. So several tons of L’Anza shampoo intended for distribution in Malta ultimately ended up on a ship headed for Ronkonkoma, for Quality King to sell wherever. If you sell on Amazon, you should periodically check eBay for your products. Several of our Amazon listings were copied and listed on eBay by foreign sellers. There is a process you can go through to have them removed but you have to have the identical images and/or text on your own company website to prove the listing information was stolen. This is particularly concerning to us when our products are only sold in the US for various reasons and these other sellers are offering to ship our product overseas. I’ve had four of our products removed from eBay and have found a few sellers in the Amazon forum who think it is perfectly fine to jump on your listing, inflate the prices of your branded items, and use you as a dropshipper. When Amazon entered the ebook market in the late 2000s, Bezos priced bestsellers at $9.99, a significant discount to what new hardcover books typically sold for. We have a traditional brick and mortar business. How can I see if any of our items in terms of Amazon’s rankings would be worthwhile sending to Amazon FBA? Would hate to ship items to them that are considered ‘low selling movers’ or price it so low later-on as to not make any profit. I also sold another more pricey item. It sucks that if the buyer lies and says it is broken that I have to pay the $20 shipping and end up -$40 shipping for the transaction (plus $15 Amazon fees). I am never selling on Amazon again. It might work well for people that sell thousands of items and have a Pro Seller account, but small sellers can get burned. I am going back to shopping from other retailers not Amazon.
One more idea and you may not know the that which I am going to tell you right here. They work with one fun strategy. To help understand the customer service process, every Amazon.com employee spends two days every two years on the service desk handling calls — even the CEO.
I am a seller on Amazon- small time just selling my collection of used books. Some of the fees were hidden (per listing fee). After the items got paid I learned I actually lost money because the Amazon fee is $3.92 per book which is more than the price they suggested for each book. I was expecting $1 item fee + 15% fee.
Ugh, Amazon. I know the pain of having your marketing images taken and used in the Amazon Marketplace. Unfortunately it’s all too common, when I took my best selling products and did a search I found 53 listings using my images. There are numerous stores with thousands of counterfeit products so I’m not even sure how to find all my work in that marketplace. The way that I teach people how to sell on Amazon FBA is by buying products locally, and then reselling them on Amazon.  There are other models of finding the inventory to sell on Amazon, I just feel that this one called “retail arbitrage” is the easiest and best one to start out with as a beginner.

Our growth has happened fast. Twenty years ago, I was driving boxes to the post office in my Chevy Blazer and dreaming of a forklift. In absolute numbers (as opposed to percentages), the past few years have been especially significant. We’ve grown from 30,000 employees in 2010 to more than 230,000 now. We’re a bit like parents who look around one day and realize their kids are grown — you blink and it happens.
Amazon’s familiar consumer e-commerce experience has become a “reference point” that businesses buyers now look to, said Christine Dover, digital commerce researcher at IDC. “Buyers have said, ‘Why can’t it be as easy to buy something through my business procurement system as it is to buy on Amazon?’ They’ve been asking for this from other vendors for a long time. And now Amazon has stepped up to provide it.”
If you’re ready to be in charge of your own destiny, but don’t have the capital to buy a franchise or open up a storefront, consider starting an online business. Once your business has been established, your products are ready for sale, and all the bugs have been worked out of the site, you are ready for the official launch. After the launch, you will need to work hard on your ecommerce marketing and advertising strategies to grow your base of loyal customers.

Once you’ve provided all of this information, you’re a registered seller on Amazon. Almost immediately, Amazon will encourage you to get started with listing your products, for once you list even a single product, you become a “Launched” seller, rather than just a “Registered, Not Launched” Seller. If you remain a “Registered, Not Launched” seller, Amazon will email you several times encouraging you to list products. While Amazon enjoys the $39.99 monthly fee it gets from you, Amazon is likely to make much more money from you on referral fees once you start selling products.
So, if you don’t already have an audience, it might be better to self-publish on Amazon first. That way, you can validate your course idea, grow your email list (just make sure to have an email opt-in at the front and back of the book!), and more or less create a rough draft of the course (since it will probably be similar to the book).
Why do you perfer selling on Amazon over an e-commerce “click funnel” where you sell only a few specific products through funnels on social media platforms? My understanding is that this route provides a higher exposure and higher volume of sales. I’m torn between the two and am at the beginning stages of researching them both. For example, if you are an affiliate marketer for Musician’s Friend, an online musical instrument retailer, you can advertise their products on your site.
