Amazon is an incredibly accessible platform that welcomes all kinds of sellers, from individuals selling a few items per month to power sellers moving thousands of products each day. There are many ways you can sell on Amazon, but the competition is fierce and Amazon is a demanding marketplace.
Retailing, however, is a sector, not a product market, the usual frame of reference for antitrust analysis. And other than books, Amazon’s original market where it maintains a commanding 40 percent market share, Amazon doesn’t have anything close to monopoly-like market shares.
I know what you’re thinking, “Why do I need to convert my items to FBA items if I just selected them to be fulfilled by Amazon?”. This just gives you the option to use Amazon FBA. You don’t have to use FBA for every item you sell. There are some items that can’t be shipped through Amazon FBA either. Therefore, you need to go into your account and manually select which items you want to fulfill through Amazon FBA.
Ship your book to Amazon. Amazon will provide you with a list of fulfillment centers. Select the one nearest your location and follow the instruction about shipping your book or books to that fulfillment center.

This is called Merchant Fulfilling. I am going to keep this post all about selling on Amazon using FBA so I won’t get all into MF other than to say that, with merchant fulfilling, you handle all of the steps above…AND, you don’t benefit from the next big point.
Next, you will need to decide what type of seller you want to be: a Professional seller or an Individual seller. Professional Sellers are typically sellers that plan to list more than few handfuls of products, and expect to be regular sellers into the future, whereas individual sellers are typically sellers that have a small supply of product that they want to sell and then be done with selling – something like a college student wanting to sell some used textbooks at the end of term, or you’re cleaning out cupboards and found some old gifts you don’t want so you decide to sell them on Amazon, rather than selling them locally.
while Individual and Professional Sellers pay the same referral fees on product sales, Individual sellers are charged a $0.99/per item fee for each unit that sells. Professional sellers don’t have this fee. While an Individual Seller pays no monthly fee for your seller account, you will pay a per-item $0.99 fee on each sale in additional to the usual Amazon referral fees. Given that the Professional Seller monthly fee is $39.99, if you plan to sell more than 40 units a month, you may want to consider getting a Professional Seller account just for the purpose of saving on the per-item fee (plus there are many other advantages being a Professional Seller). Also keep in mind that you’re allowed to flip back and forth between being an Individual Seller and Professional Seller – this is worth remembering if you decide to stop selling as a Professional Seller for some period of time, and don’t want to be charged a monthly fee during that no-sales period.
In the event that you suspect foul play, report it to Amazon. The good thing is that you have 90 days to contest bad feedback and if it is removed during that time then nothing bad happens to your account.
A book is “Like New” if everything appears as though the book has never been touched. The dust cover must be intact with no tears. The spine should show no creasing and the pages must be completely clean and intact.

The promotion of your products remains your brand’s responsibility unless you pay Amazon to do it for you. Promoting your brand remains your responsibility.”
No, you can only add your item to a listing if it’s the same product, an item can have multiple sellers of the exact product, but you can’t list different items under one listing. You’ll want to create your own listing with your product’s name and UPC number, and market it as a better version of the competition. Manually adding your product to an existing listing is easy in your Seller Central Dashboard. Simply search for the item under List a new product using the product name, Amazon product ID, or item SKU:
Scroll down a bit, you’ll see list a new product, and you’ll notice that Amazon wants you to search for your product name. If you type it in here, it will find existing listings. Now this isn’t what you want to do, this is more for wholesaling or retail arbitrage, where you want to sell somebody else’s product.
